Best and worst parts about working for

1st day of work, wearing my
Camperforce T-shirt.
The only reason I wanted to come to Coffeyville was to go to the Dalton Defenders Day celebration. Some how I ended up working at Amazon in a fulfillment center. The trouble with that is rather then spending the day exploring and writing I have to go out and work.
So until I have time to sit down to write a real blog I will give you guys a quick top ten list to remind you I am still here. I know people like top tens lists.
I am going to do this a little different then most top ten lists. I am going to give you top 5 best and top 5 worst things about working for Amazon.

Top 5 worst things about working at Amazon.
#5 Finding everything you never knew you needed. seals everything you can think of and a lot of things you would have never thought of. There are a 100 different kind of cat toys and each one we wonder if the cats would like it. This place is the the largest library I have ever seen and you can't walk down an isle without wanting to pick up a book.
#4 Forgetting all the cool stuff you thought you wanted. It is so frustrating when you see this cool new book and when you get home you cannot remember the title. Or you know you saw the coolest new electronic device but have no idea what it is called.
#3 Having a boss. Not that our supervisors are bad people mind you. Some of them a pretty cool. Still I do not like being told what to do. It is nice doing your own thing when ever and how ever you decide to do it.
#2 The alarm clock. Kayla and I have not had to wake up at a specific time in who knows how long. I really do not like waking to that noisy little box buzzing in my ear. As I just said I do not like being told what to do especially when it is a gadget telling me to get out of bed.
#1 I never seem to have me time. If we are not at work we are getting ready for work or unwinding from work. On our days off we are doing school work or chores. Poor Kayla has all her internet work to do as well. We truly feel that we would be more productive people if we did not have to work.
I do not want you guys to think it is all bad there are some good points or we would not be doing it.
Top 5 best things about working at Amazon.
#5 Finding everything you never knew you needed. I could spend my whole paycheck on the things I see and think I want but some times you do find something you never knew was out there and it will really make life easier. Like a cool set of stacking pots and pans that are just right for the RV or a five pound tub of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans.
#4 Getting in shape. We keep busy a lot but we are not always the most active couple. We had to walk to the grocery store a few times when we first got here and we would have to stop and warm the bench for a little while. Now though we can make it there, shop, and walk back home with out braking a sweat. By the time we leave here we will be ready for those state park hikes we have been wanting to take,
#3 It pays well. I have no love of money mind you but you do need it in this world of ours.when we are done here we should have made enough cash to take it easy for a little while. It will be nice to sit in the sun and catch up on the fun we have been missing out on.
#2 They treat us well. Work is never fun unless you are a stunt man or something but at least Amazon tries. They like to do little things that boost moral and keep us keen on coming in to work. Our first day on the job they were having a cup cake party for employees with birthdays.
#1 Making new friends. We have made a lot of new friends. People we would have never met if we were not working at Amazon. Most of the people we met have been friendly and we have had a lot of laughs. If it was not for the cool people I do not think I would make it through.

A photo of our Camperforce T-Shirt.
If we have been quiet on the blogoshpere lately its because we are busting our butts at work and busy on our days off. We are so glad that the time is passing quickly, we only have 5 weeks and 2 days left here in Coffeyville.

We have had mandatory overtime, and will stay on that schedule for the next several weeks. With Amazon work, web design work, school work, RV repairs, errands (groceries, laundry, etc) and sleep our schedules have been totally slam packed.

We have managed to squeeze in a little bit of time for hanging out with new friends, but I'm telling you that is imperative to our mental health!!

We still have several blog posts to write about the places we have been, things we have seen, work at Amazon, our minimalistic life in the RV, and #bloglife updates.

We just wanted to touch base and say hello, we miss you all back in NC, and that we are still loving life in the RV!

Until next time,
Live long and prosper!
Love: Rob and Kay
