Life is:

Thursday, May 29, 2014

Life is crazy, beautiful, wild, exhausting yet effortless, and yes this will be another random post.

First: Our little lady (Judzia) wants to help me work today! Gotta love #Mahkitty!--->

I wanted to apologize to those of you who are following the #BlogLife101 series, because sometimes... life happens & I will try to keep up with the series.. but it may not happen on a week to week basis like I had planned. Again, life happens.

You all know that we are preparing for something new, and we had a very rigorous time frame to work with, but again... life happens and things have sped up dramatically.

Not to worry though... we (the husband and I) are aware that

while life happens every little part of it happens for a perfect reason and turns out more beautifully than we could have ever planned it ourselves.

We will be hosting a few very large yard sales, we are downsizing into an RV afterall, and finishing the packing/ storing/ finding the perfect rig... all while having wisdom teeth removed, working, doing schoolwork, and planning our adventures.

We have decided while we should plan an itinerary (full of homestead tours and travel fun) we shouldn't be control freaks and instead let serendipity guide us. We are stoked about the road ahead and look forward to sharing it with you.

I also have so much more I want to share about blogging and I will get back to the #BlogLife101 series asap! Just bear with me and send happy, loving, peace vibes our way!

Thanks for reading and sticking with us through the tough bits!
-Kayla

Our 4th year of wedded bliss!

"Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend." — Albert Camus

We wanted to take a break today from the #BlogLife101 series and the normal day to day chaos (aka life) to wish each other a Happy Anniversary.

Usually we go to Myrtle Beach SC, for a few nights to escape it all and play at the penny arcade, but this year we have too much going on and not enough time to accomplish it all.

When we first met we had an almost instant feeling of being totally comfortable together and felt as if we had known each other for many life-times.

During our relationship together being in love with each other has been the easiest part of our lives by far. We may have gone through our times of fear, doubt, stress, more stress, and change but through all of that we never had to question whether or not we were right for each other.

So many people (friends and family) have told us that we should write a book about our love for each other and how we make it work. "A book?"- we ask.. "but it's so simple..."

We are simple in our expectations but extravagant in our dreams. When we met in 2008 both of our lives were falling apart and neither one of us were looking for a relationship, so we decided to be best friends first. After being together for a year and a half Robert surprised Kayla in front of all of our friends and family in a suit and tie by asking for her hand in marriage. She said yes!!

We agreed early on that if we had to lie to each other it better be about a surprise. We knew that the only constant in life is change and that we had to be willing to grow and change together. We also figured out early on that money is a game, that was not worth arguing about. We had to decide how much money we needed to live the life we wanted, and figured out how to best use our talents to win the game (aka money).

We. Are. Best. Friends. Still today! We tell each other everything and love spending our time together.

So today, on the eve of our forth anniversary of wedded bliss we just wanted to use our blog for a moment of PDA ;) and share with the world how glad we are that we met!

When you find the one you love, be best friends first & practice the H.O.W.: Being Honest, Open minded, and Willing to change/ grow with each other.

Until next time stay groovy, and in love! -The Winters!!

Time with Nature

Thursday, May 1, 2014

I decided to take some photos in our yard a few days ago, and the pictures turned out so lovely I thought I would share!

We thought you would enjoy a virtual nature walk with us!

Logs wasting, growing some type of fungi in our neighbors yard.

Make a wish!

Lovely

Can you feel the sun's rays in this photo?
